KOKO#4 - WHAT A RESULT!

KOKO#4 - WHAT A RESULT!
A big thank you to you all for making KOKO#4 so much fun and such a success..... and many thanks to Woking for hosting us so well for the first of many "KOKO@Woko" events.
Congrats to all the golfing winners - a mix of first time champs and recurrent winners (the handicap committee will re-sit appropriately). Viv - many thanks for pointing out my inappropriate bias.... I will constitute a second longest drive comp for next year so that it is in range for everyone!
A big thanks to all the sponsors and to those who gave prizes. If you need gin (https://silentpooldistillers.com/), clubs (https://www.precisiongolf.co.uk/), clothes or shoes (https://www.petermillar.co.uk/), or tools (https://www.woodfordtools.co.uk/), you know where to go. And of course, you too can be clothed in velvet splendour by visiting https://www.moss.co.uk/jackets/velvet-jackets - thank you, Matt, for donating the jacket to the White Lodge cause.
If you want to play again, you might consider the very nice (and very generous) people at Woking (thank you, Richard), Foxhills (thank you, Greg), Goodwood (thank you, Peter), The Wisley (thank you, Viv) and Beaverbrook (thank you, Nathan) as places to play (although good luck with getting on the last 2!).
And thank you to "Ping Pong Paul" Drinkhall and The Baroness for providing two other amazing unbuyable items (in Tokyo 2020 athlete's kit, and access to the Houses of Parliament).
Thanks to the folks who enlarged the raffle table. I remember Mike B and Tony I bringing things but I may well have forgotten others, for which the San Miguel is to blame.
Many thanks to Neil and Sue at Event Caddie (https://www.eventcaddie.com/) for supplying the great merchandise again - the pitchmark repairers were a particular hit this year, guys!
Many thanks to all those who bought raffle tickets, merchandise and mulligans; to those who failed with auction attempts but added to the atmosphere in their attempts to win; and to those whose hands kept going up amidst the competitive bidding and won out in the end. Linsey and I are going to White Lodge and will be handing over nearly £6500 which is fabulous. It was great to have White Lodge at the event - many thanks for joining in, Jane. This amount of money is very small when compared to the amazing support you give to those who need you most, but we hope it contributes to filling the pretty big hole of which you made us aware.
Thanks to my legion of helpers without whom it wouldn't have happened - Alfie and the tappy-tap-tap machine, Linsey, Margaret, Judi, Simon, Emily (for baby-sitting), Bryony (for the amazing KOKO cake) and Jo in the office for all her help before/during/after!
Thanks to Mark for taking photos all day long. He has kindly made the photos available to everyone at this link:

And just to mark everyone's card, we're doing all again next year on Friday 21st October. We'll be teeing off slightly early so there will be even more time to enjoy the day!
One final thank you to everyone for coming and getting stuck in. As Mum would have said, "it couldn't have been better". I'd be very grateful to those of you who brought teams if you could pass on this message and my thanks to those who joined you.
Keep on keeping on till next time,
Mike
