KOKO #5 - THE ONE WHEN IT RAINED

Thank you all for making the 5th running of KOKO the biggest, the wettest and the most successful (in terms of money raised) yet - I that makes it the best yet I reckon! For those of you who brought teams, I'd very much appreciate it if you could forward this note (and my thanks) onto them.

By rights, the course should have been closed as the heavens were opening on us, but it wasn't and we kept on keeping on. Some of us even posted some pretty good scores. Well done to those who won various prizes - if you went home with a claret jug, a green jacket or a Ryder Cup, you are a major winner and can now sport a golden KOKO forever! If you left without one (The Griffour?), I'll get one to you. If you are previous major winner and I didn't get one to you, do let me know.

Many thanks to all those who bought merchandise, raffle tickets, mulligans and auction lots. I'm still totting up the takings but it will be a record - with moneys in and pledged, we are likely to exceed £10,000 which White Lodge will put to very good use. Thanks to Mike, Kim and team for helping on the day and to all those back at base who provide such a great service at White Lodge. If you were successful on the silent auction table, I'll drop you a line.

Thanks again to all at Woking (Ryan, Dee, Mandy, and Will in particular) for hosting us so well. As soon as I have a date for next year, I'll let you all know.

I went through very many people on Friday afternoon who helped (thanks again to you all) but I'd like to call out Mike Kyriacos and Rich Grace again - between them, they paid for the GolfGameBook scoring facility and the wine for our meal which, in their different ways, helped the day flow very nicely! Much appreciated, guys.

Jake and Mark who were taking photos have sent through their links so do have a look through them. If you would like any, please take them - you might consider making a small donation to White Lodge as you do so. The links are here:

If anyone else has any photos that they haven't forwarded on, please so so - they might make it into the album for next year!

Till next year, keep on keeping on!

Mike
