KOKO #6 - THE ONE WHEN IT WAS SUNNY!

The dust is still settling and my recovery is far from over but I wanted to say a huge thank you for making KOKO #7 such a great occasion.  The sun shone down on us for once, the course was looking beautiful, and the craic was obvious to all.  As a friend said, there were so many smiles everywhere all day long.  There was also some very good golf (well played to Mike Gray, John Cowgill, Cam Hey, and The Quite Old Georgians for excellent victories); there was golf less good too but thank you, George Craven, for the finest acceptance speech for The Wooden Spoon!

The collective generosity was humbling - the merch and mulligans were purchased with abandon, Pimms and Spiced rum quaffed under orange hats, and pockets dug deep into for raffle and auction alike.  The final total will smash the £10,000 White Lodge asked us to aim for in order to fund "the fun bus" - I am still totting up but the final figure is likely to be over £16,000.  However you contributed, a heartfelt thanks to you.   Could I please ask team captains to pass on my sincere thanks to all your players.

Ryan, Will - the Club did us really proud. What a shift everyone put in.  Thanks so much to all the team - I hope the chocolates and biscuits can be enjoyed by all!

And a message from Team White Lodge:

What a brilliant day we enjoyed at the glorious Woking Golf Club for KOKO#7. The KOKO golf day has now established itself as a 'must-attend' event and it's all down to the hard work and inspiration of Mike Meredith, and his wonderful family.  Mike's Mum will be so proud that we celebrate her motto 'Keep On Keeping On' in such fine style and what's more, we all use that spirit to raise such an important amount of money for such a worthy cause. White Lodge is just that and on behalf of all the children, adults, carers, families, and staff, I cannot thank you enough for helping KOKO raise over £16,000 for the 'Fun Bus!' - Wow!

Whether you donated an auction/raffle prize, dug deep for those mulligans, bought KOKO merch or treated yourself in the auction - every penny and act of kindness will make a huge difference. This will enable the charity to take children with disabilities on amazing trips and experiences in the community. Thank you!
